Welcome to Puppy Love,
by Ms. Kirsten Coleman

Hello y'all and Welcome to Kirstens web page...  Ms. Coleman is soooo busy running around the
State meeting lots of City Government people, fulfilling honored duties as Miss Outstanding
Teenager of 2008 for Silver Springs, entering State level competitions, visiting Ronald Mc
Donalds house we thought she should have her own page.

Ms. Kirsten Coleman is the seventeen-year-old founder of “Puppy Love”, a youth advocate organization. Puppy Love’s mission is to increase the
awareness of therapy dogs and their rehabilitative benefits. Together with
Roxy, her Therapy Dog, they have done this by partnering with national
days and weeks of community service and participating in events where they can promote community involvement and education of Therapy
Dogs.
Kirsten’s latest venture has been to invite all of the 412 Florida municipalities to partner with her in a
“Therapy Dog Awareness” Campaign.   This
year “Therapy Dog Awareness Day” May 10th comes at the end of National Pet Week.  Of the 412 municipalities notified, Kirsten has now received
over 90 responses with more confirmations pouring in each day.  Grateful for each one, Kirsten knows that all it takes is a little faith to change the
world with one wagging tail at a time.
Each month, Kirsten plans to hold at least one event sponsored by Puppy Love, such as co-sponsoring a County Puppy Pageant, a Dog Wash,
volunteering at Elementary schools, as well as participating in the Read to the Puppy Program just to name a few. Kirsten and Roxy will continue
their local therapy visits but have recently partnered with Ronald McDonald Houses of Tampa and St. Petersburg to make special visits.
As if all of this doesn’t keep Kirsten busy enough, she also handcrafts and sells
Puppy Love Awareness Bracelets to help promote her
organization.

assist by helping out on the serving line and
she sang our National Anthem.

Here Ms Coleman visits with children at a local school.

Kirsten had an idea, developed it and now it is starting to come true.
She wanted to set a day aside to honor Therapy Dogs so she designed a Proclamation for Cities to review and hopefully approve. Kirsten canvassed all 400 plus
cities in the State of Florida and is starting to receive favorable responses.
Lots of Cities have approved her Proclamation with more coming in daily.
This is great news for Therapy Dogs...  The dogs are now getting a
well deserved Honor thanks to a young lady named Ms. Kirsten Coleman of Bushnell, Fl.
33513.

MAY 10TH of each year from now on will be known as THERAPY DOG Appreciation DAY!    Great idea, Great job Kirsten,  We Thank you.
