Facilities - Where do we go?

Below are some of the facilities our Dog Teams visit.

Some facility visits are weekly while others are on a monthly basis.

We visit Assisted Living facilities, Rehabilitation Centers, Group Homes for Mentally & Physically challenge citizens, Retirement
Centers, Summer Reading programs, 4-H Clubs and YMCA Summer Camp just to name a few.

In addition, some of our Teams visit public and private schools for the Read-to-the-Dogs program which was designed to
encourage children to continue with their reading at home.

Read-to-the-Dogs programs is wide spread and is introduced to the children thru Library's, Christian Academy's and local Churches
and various organizations.

Another area some of our Dog Teams visit is the numerous Hospice House facilities within our tri-county area.
All Handlers who volunteer for this specialty area must complete a two day intensive training program prior to entering a Hospice
House. Some Hospice House's require a Handler to attend their training program in addition to any other training.

We are very proud of our Handlers and their Dogs.

Christmas visit to Crown Court  Assisted Living facility, Inverness, Fl.

When we arrived some of the residents were outside enjoying the beautiful day.  When asked to go inside for a Therapy
Dog visit
I asked if we all could stay outside and visit there. It was a wonderful visit as Ms Carol  brought out Christmas sheet music
and we all had a sing along. Sodapop just laid there most of the time. A few times she got up and visited with someone but I
really think the singing confused her... lol
Great job folks, y'all did yourselves proud...
